How Merrigo works

Merrigo is a little fairground for apps people made. It is free, there are no ads, and every project gets the same chance to be seen.

• For visitors

  A spin is twenty projects at a time, and Merrigo always picks the ones that have been seen least, so a brand-new project is shown as often as a well-known one. Nothing is ranked: there is no top ten, no leaderboard and no voting. Tapping the heart saves a project to your Loved tab and tells the maker someone liked it — it never changes who gets shown next.

• For developers

  Post your project in one screen. It is checked automatically for safety, then joins the rotation alongside everyone else's with even exposure. You get a share link for your own audience and a Featured on Merrigo badge for your site or README, and you can see how many people were shown your project and came from your link.

• Safety and fairness

  Before a project appears, its link is checked for malware, phishing, dead pages and sneaky downloads, and its cover picture is checked too. Anyone can report a project, and enough reports hide it straight away for a person to look at. Turns cannot be bought — there is no way to pay for a better position.

• Loved is a thank-you

  Your Loved tab is just for you: a place to find the projects you liked again. The turn-taking ignores hearts completely.
